How about this for measuring progress this season: W/L compared to teams from last year.

ISU has the following common opponents from '07:

Kent State
SUI
Kansas
Kansas State
Nebraska
Colorado
Mizzou

Last year's record versus the above: 3-4

Right now we're 1-0.

KU and Mizzou are probable losses, even in Ames.

KSU and CU will be challenges on the road.

It's still too early to judge the Cornhuskers.

Of course, we can never hope to compete with the On-The-Cusp-Of-A-National-Title Hawkeyes, so that's an L.

Even 4-3 will be a success in my book.
