Following the thread this writer takes on TCU/Baylor:
Would ISU fans be happier winning in a lesser football conference- WAC, MWC, CUSA, etc- than getting its brains beaten out year over year, with the occasional (failed) shot at the title?
Discuss.

Just my humble opinion, but I would not be happy if we moved to a small conference. I would actually be the opposite.
I think it would take away from the gameday experience, and even more so, my Cyclone pride.
I think we are on the right track, and I am blindly confident that we will find great success in the future.
First off, this is a topic to kill the time until football starts. It's right there with "What if there was a DI playoff? How would you run it?" It's fun to argue about over beer, but the odds of it happening are low.
I don't want to move, either, but we're in a real shakeout moment in Big Time Football.
Either ISU needs to climb out of last place in the money game AND win some football games, or it will be left to scramble when some school takes a better offer from another conference and the B12 starts evaluating each schools contribution to the whole.
I wouldn't like our chances a B12 melt down.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. If the Big 12 did begin to melt down, we would be one of the first to go.
Let's hope Pollard can shine us up enough where we are an asset, not a liability like some people think we are now.
